John and Moyra Illsley from Mill Farm in Yateley, working with Country House Wedding Venues and Lewandowski Architects, have undertaken work to convert the grounds and facilities at Mill Farm into a brand new barn wedding venue called Rivervale Barn.

The completed wedding venue will demonstrate how an impressive, beautiful "green" building can be created when the charm, character and scale of the existing environment is respected. A new "green oak" wedding barn is currently under construction with giant cranes lifting each beam into place. Skilled craftsman, using traditional methods, fit and fix the huge jigsaw puzzle together.

Together with the restoration and conversion of other buildings to create a honeymoon cottage and an events office this will ensure life for many years to come in this idyllic corner of Hampshire. The landscape at Mill Farm is prime Hampshire land and very diverse. The owners of Rivervale Barn believe their investment should be ethically led and sustainable but also fun and financially sound.

The facilities will include:

  • Civil Ceremony Barn for up to 150 guests
  • Wedding Reception Barn - super chic barn wedding venue to seat up to 150 guests with a landscaped terrace and beautiful gardens
  • On site guest accommodation - stunning views across the countryside, an exquisite luxury suite for the wedding couple plus additional guest bedrooms
  • Fine food - on site event management and catering sourcing local food from local suppliers
Viewings of the venue will be available from January 2009 with wedding dates being available from June 2009.
